The number of lights your group will build is determined by the size of your group. The SolarBuddy lights come in boxes containing multiples of 50 lights. We suggest accommodating for at least one light per person.
The SolarBuddy Hour of Power provides solar lights to schools, children and families living in remote areas of the world experiencing energy poverty. We give companies, like yours, the opportunity to illuminate children’s lives. Your team will be educated about the importance of renewable energy and the ever-growing negative effect of energy poverty. Your team will then become a part of the solution as you build solar lights that will be sent to children living without access to power. They will know that their light will illuminate the life of a child in a remote area of the world and they will know that they have made a difference. SolarBuddy – Hour of Power
About SolarBuddy – Hour of Power
Key Facts
There are no teams in the SolarBuddy Hour of Power event. Instead, the whole group is working as ‘one team’ – together towards a common goal. The whole group goal is achieved when all the SolarBuddy lights have been built and your delegates learn the true meaning of the session; the bigger picture of giving back to those less fortunate.
The SolarBuddy JuniorBuddy lights come in boxes containing multiples of 50 lights. We suggest accommodating for at least one light per person.
The SolarBuddy activity requires an indoor space set cabaret style as well as a projector and screen.
Once all the lights have been assembled, they are distributed to children in need via our amazing local aid agencies who specialise in operating education programs in the countries they work in.
The countries that currently receive SolarBuddy lights include: Tanzania, Dominican Republic, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, East Timor, Cambodia, India or South Africa.
Lights are delivered within 3 months of assembly and we will forward you through a distribution report with photos and impact statistics.
