The SolarBuddy Corporate Program provides solar lights to schools, children and families living in remote areas of the world experiencing energy poverty. Give a real light, built virtually, in this immersive virtual CSR event. Perfect for remote or hybrid teams, the SolarBuddy Hour of Power Online is self-facilitated and self-paced, offering complete flexibility and inclusivity. Using a browser-based platform from their Mac or PC, participants build virtual JuniorBuddy lights and gain insights into the impact of energy poverty on education, health, the environment, and the economy. As part of the experience, participants will also connect with a child living in energy poverty through a letter-writing activity, which will be included with the physical light built and delivered by the SolarBuddy team. Key Facts
There are no teams in the SolarBuddy event. Instead, the whole group is working as ‘one team’ – together towards a common goal. The whole group goal is achieved when all the SolarBuddy lights have been built and your delegates learn the true meaning of the event; the bigger picture of giving back to those less fortunate.
This innovative and educational initiative is carbon-neutral and contributes to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Once all the lights have been built virtually, SolarBuddy will distribute a real, pre-assembled JuniorBuddy light accompanied by your heartfelt letters to children in need via their amazing local aid agencies who specialise in operating education programs in the countries they work in.
The countries that currently receive SolarBuddy lights include: Tanzania, Dominican Republic, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, East Timor, Cambodia, India or South Africa.
Lights are delivered within 3 months of assembly, and we will forward you an impact report.
